Crickets: Missy Elliott Preps for New Album

Missy Elliott recently resurfaced with two new songs: Ching-A-Ling and Shake Your Pom Pom. Both songs will appear on Atlantic's forthcoming Step Up 2 the Streets and her new solo album expected the first quarter of this year. All her songs sound the same to me but gotta love her creativity.

Update: Ching-A-Ling has already debuted on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Oh boy! I reported Chingy had a few words for Wendy Williams sidekick Charlamagne tha God and now he has responded. Here is a paragraph from his blog:

BET Founder Bob Johnson Apologizes to Obama

The founder and former CEO of BET apologized Today to Sen. Barack Obama for his comments this week regarding the Democratic presidential hopeful's acknowledged drug use as a teenager. Johnson said:

As an African-American, I'm frankly insulted that the Obama campaign would imply that we are so stupid that we would think Bill and Hillary Clinton, who have been deeply and emotionally involved in black issues when Barack Obama was doing something in the neighborhood that -- and I won't say what he was doing, but he said it in his book -- when they have been involved.

Bob Johnson said he sent Obama a letter and also was reaching out by phone.

I'm writing to apologize to you and your family personally for the uncalled-for comments I made at a recent Clinton event. In my zeal to support Senator Clinton, I made some very inappropriate remarks for which I am truly sorry. I hope that you will accept this apology. Good luck on the campaign trail.

The Obama campaign said it will respond to the development soon. Johnson's apology comes as both the Clinton and Obama campaigns step up their efforts to win South Carolina's coveted African-American vote on January 26.

Foxy Brown to Judge: Let Me Out of Jail

Foxy "Boo Hoo" Brown is asking Judge Melissa Jackson to release her from jail to treat an ear condition. Brown is serving a year-long prison term stemming from an assault charge in October 2006. Foxy wrote in a four-page handwritten letter:

I ask you to please take into consideration that my health is in jeopardy.

It was bad enough for her to assault two nail salon stylists over a $20 manicure but in October authorities said Brown received 76 days in isolation in jail after getting into a shoving match with another inmate and refusing to do a drug test. She continues to write:

Yes, I've made some bad choices and stupid mistakes. But please understand that sitting in a prison with murderers and criminals is not rehabilitating or what I need to deal with my inner issues.

You get no sympathy from me Miss Brown.

Mary's Reps Deny Illegal Steroid Use

Mary J. Blige, Tyler Perry, Timbaland, Wyclef John, and 50 Cent have all been accused of using steroids or a human growth hormone prescribed by doctors and pharmacists. Mary J. Blige is the only one so far to come forth and address the allegations. Her rep tells New York Daily News:

Mary J. Blige has never taken any performance-enhancing illegal steroids.

Oh okay, so she hasn't taken illegal steroids. Hmmmm. I'm a Mary fan so I'll leave that alone.

Eddie Murphy Ends His Marriage of Two Weeks
